Bose Personalized Amplification System

Post by GSR »

http://www.bose.com/controller;jsession ... ndex_2.jsp

i think this would be a completely sick setup for live gigs, seems really convient and professional like. i haven't tried it obviously, given funds and a complete lack of gigs.. or a band for that matter. but anyone have a review? the only thing i've heard was that it was a little quiet, volume wise.

Hopefully they sound better than their home audio speakers. "No highs, No Lows...must be Bose"

I have an article from acoustic guitar magazine where they say you have to buy the separate bass cab to make it sound good for acoustic stuff. For that much$$ you would probably be better buying a high quality regular PA with some monitors.

BTW
I can scan and send you the article if you want-

You'd think that Line 6 would team up with a more seasoned company than Bose.

I played one at Guitar Center, and it is INCREDIBLE sounding!! For acoustic guitar you will need the additional bass cab. Total package about $2,500. but that's not a bad price when you consider that is your amp and your PA all in one. And it is a very portable and cool looking set-up.

I played a Taylor 814ce through it, and at first I couldn't get my volume set right because it sounded exactly like the sound coming out of the guitar!! I couldn't tell them apart, which is VERY good in my book. I will get one when I have the beans to do it. and I will get some small effects like a touch of chorus for the guitar and just a hint of reverb for my voice... That is going to be insane sounding!!!

actually there are 24 small speakers, but the way they are aligned there is no "sweet spot" it is just a wall of sound, that sounds the same from any angle...

I agree with "No highs no lows, must be Bose" I had thier 501 system and they were all mids, but this didn't seem that way at all... I would have to spend more time and hear it in different rooms to know for sure though.

that thing looks wicked though, a bitch to transport i'd imagine not as hard as a full pa system with monitors but does it atleast fold up or somethin?

It's relatively light...believe me anything beats lugging around my 120 pound cab plus the 110 pound rack
