So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Let You Down (help me)

Post by elliot »

i've been playing this song for about 5 hours today and i have the chords and the basic rhythm down, but when i listen to dave play it, im missing something huge but i dont know what it is. he plays the chords but it sounds like he's fingerpicking something in between (im not talking about timmy's part). does anyone know what i'm talking about. if so, what is it that he's doing? and how do i do it?

It's probably the upstrums and the mutes, i'm not even going to try to explain cause I dont have a guitar around but im pretty sure it's that.
Think of the strums something like this....down, up, up, mute..this would be for each chord i guess.
Try that..
