Dave Matthews Band on MTV Unplugged?

Post by dbapollo »

I was just wondering if DMB has ever performed on MTV Unplugged... That would be interesting.

If they already have, when was it and how was it?

If not, do you think a DMB performance on MTV Unplugged would be something great to look forward to?

peace!

I'm pretty sure they have not performed on Unplugged, but they performed an all acoustic set back in 1998. I'm not sure what the exact date was nor the venue, but the songs were:

Dancing Nancies
Don't Drink the Water
Crush
Tripping Billies

It's on a DVD I have of Ultrasound's Behind the Scenes of BTCS.

Only four songs? (not that im complaining. hehe. one good song from DMB is better that a shitload of songs by all the wannabes out there)

anyhow... IMHO it would be nice to see them play on unplugged. some bands have had classic and - should i daresay - legendary performances on unplugged: Nirvana (of course), Oasis, Hootie and the Blowfish, Alanis, REM, and the list goes on.....

Well, It would be nice to see them unplugged.

But... UNplugged usually= acoustic. And that's just about all Dave plays. :) It'd just be the same stuff you've seen on storytellers or sessions.

Right, but this is DMB, so, no electric violin for Boyd, no electric bass for Stefan.

He would use blast sticks. The same kind he uses on Say Goodbye. That is exactly what Dave Grohl did with Nirvana. Even id he does, he is incredible at percussion but Im almost 100% sure he would use blast sticks.

DMB would be sweet unplugged, the acoustic bass would sound phat as hell.
