Me? Nothing. But Dave can quit butchering it, and the band can quit dragging it on so much.

No I think you misunderstood, I was trying to give you unexpected response. Like....ahh well, each to his own.

It's not really dave butchering it, it's Butch. The old school two steps were awesome (Folsom Field and before) but the new ones just lose so much energy. I especially miss the Salsa Jam of the Peter Griesar days.

I've heard live versions I didn't like before, but usually I love it.

I disagree strongly (about Butch butchering it), but that's just my opinion. While I do miss the Salsa Jam, that really hasn't been done (in Two Step) since Peter left - it's very nice in Warehouse, though ;)

this song is hard to say how it is live. some versions are unbelievably awesome, i think. FF version is great, it's not too long, and it has intense energy.
yet some versions seem to drag on very long and loose a lot of energy with Butch's solo

its just hard coming off of a Dave's big yell, then going into a really calm keyboard solo, then brinign it back up to full jam. works sometimes, doesn't others

I guess I'm just a piano person (been playing for years), because I have yet to not thoroughly enjoy a Butch solo in any song.

I found I don't like it much live either, but I think only because the album version is my favorite DMB song. I've listened to that song, I swear, a thousand times.

To each his own. The only version of #41 I really like is Dave and Tim's.
"If at all God's gaze upon us falls, it's with a mischievous grin."

"I live on the corner of Grey St. and the end of the world."
