Are we talking Dave and Tim, or DMB + Tim?

he uses alllllot of delay and reverb, ive tried without it doesnt work... just take your slide in your ride hand and like use the end and scrape it across the 5th or 4th string, thats what he does its really to bartendar on storytellers, but without the delay and reverb you cant get it...

The sound at the beginning of the song on Storytellers and on live in chicago is a wah pedal.

Slide and delay over imaginary frets and sliding back towards the lower frets on the low e string. He might even be fuckin around with his moogerfrooger, but you nerds who know uber amounts of useless facts with probably say "no moogerfrooger was used at storytellers" ROFL.

Indeed...his setup at Storytellers was guitar-->Morley Wah/Volume-->DD-5.

The BTCS Tab book says "Distortion with wah as filter" for the "Here's the hitch...." part where Tim comes in with that same sound.

At the beginning of DDTW on Storytellers, after it seques from Reconcile Our Differences/Bartender, he is using the wah with his guitar tuned to Drop D. It has been forever since I have heard that, if anyone has it on SHN/MP3, it be happy to take another listen.

Hey may have had the DD-5 on mode 3 as well, just some delay, and I know he used mode 6, backward, for D&T DDTW.
