I personally don't get what that page is telling us. He DID NOT use a Chet Atkins in the studio, that is for DAMN sure. Maybe I'm missing the idea behind that part......????

Could he have used the old chet, not the sst chet?

no there is absolutely no benefit to recording with any kind of chet. They are strictly a full band performance guitar (low feedback, able to cut through a full band).

i agree, i think the basic sound of a chet just doesnt sound acoustic enough to sound like something on any of the albums
