tim's part in rapunzel

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

tim's part in rapunzel

Post by elliot »

i know people have asked about this before, but i'm not talking about the intro riff, or the verse riff (although i am interested in the verse riff). i'm wondering if anyone knows what tim is doing during the chorus?? it's this sweet sounding repetitive riff and i can't figure it out. thanks.

listen to the recording for the rhythm... he does a lot of muting here, and a decent amount of vibrato to make it really jump..

here's the only part i've cared to transcribe to tab

'You are my rapunzel' -

G|---5------|
D|-7---7-6-|

he does a lot of decending chromatic lines for a lot of the verses

E-------------------|-------------------|-----------------|

Outro (Just go crazy with any versions of these chords you want, in the G C F C pattern):

G chords:

e--------7--13---------15~-|
b-----6--6--15-------------|
g--4--4--7--16-----12~-----|
d--3--5---------5~---------|
a--x-----------------------|
E--3-----------------------|

C chords:

e--------6--12---------|
b-----5--8--11-----13~-|
g--3--3--9--12--5~-----|
d--2--5----------------|
a--3-------------------|
E----------------------|

F chords:

e--------5--11---------13~-|
b-----4--4--13-------------|
g--2--2--5--14-----10~-----|
d--1--3---------3~---------|
a--x-----------------------|
E--1-----------------------|

This part adds a really nice jazzy feel to the song. Have fun with it, and make sure you

use lots and lots of vibrato and muting wherever it feels right. Any comments or
