Smoking weed and playing guitar is the ultimate mix for me, getting stonned takes away every other function, letting me put all my energy into the music. The only things I can do when stonned is make music and fuck girls. I think not doing it all the time is the key tho, so that when you get stonned you actually get stonned. I can't speak for anyone else, but there is something there that just makes me feel the music more when stonned. Now liquer wise, the more i drink the messier i play, but i get nice and vocal when really drunk, so i guess that's a plus.

it's funny how people feel like they have to talk down to people for choosing what they do, fuck man, driving your car is bad for your health, not to mention every other person on this earth.

i dont do any drugs, but alot of me good friends do, it all works out cause they stop complaining about my playing the guitar all the time, and i stop complaining about their complaining, its a good mix for me, when my friends are high, they think im an amazing guitarist (which i am not!), and i get to practice for hours on end

I agree. Drinking is alot more damaging. Brain and liver damage.
But I'm not going to debate cause everyone has got their opinions. But I am the same way, I play alot better at parties where I've smoked and can concentrate better and hear the notes and chord changes. Sorry to all those out their who are sooo against smoking but I have a wake up call for you. Their are ALOT of people out their smoking who range from average jobs to running corporate business's but you'd never know it.Alcoholics tend to stick out like sore thumbs.

The reason you think or may play better , is because you're more relaxed , learn to relax without it is very possible

And maybe you should try record yourself and listen to it in sober condition .. Its like the saying " I sound good when im drunk , but i sound even better when you're drunk " ....

And about people who smoke / drink running corporate business's , sure i don't really see a problem in that either , as long as they get the job done .. Now where i have something really against it , is if they are responsible to peoples lives and they don't have control over anything , like bus drivers , taxi drivers , pilots , navigators , stuff like that ....

Actually I do record and it sounds just as good. Dave sounds no different. People that smoke aren't drunk where they are slurring. I don't get tanked. These debates could go on forever but everyone has their opinions. But how does someone that has never expierienced it get off lecturing those that do about "How they feel;Why they feel that way?"

I usually stay out of these conversations for a bunch of different reasons but this one has caught my eye. I LOVE POT. Period, end of story. I smoke pot for ONE reason only, becuase I like it. I don't smoke it to be cool or because other people are doing it. I enjoy the feeling of being high. Oh yeah, and I can play songs just as good high as sober. That's for damn sure. You make generalizations about something and it gets you nowhere. All it does is prove that you don't have an open mind. Why do you say all people who smoke pot are losers??? Is there a reasoning behind it? No, it's jsut becuase you don't like it. I personally don't do coke and have never tried it. I think it's disguisting and snorting anything is just not my thing, but I know a bunch of people that do do it. Do I care??? NO, I don't care what anyone else does. It doesn't affect me. Unless they are close to me, then go ahead and do whatever the hell you like.

That could have been one of the most belligerant(sp?) comments I have ever heard. You love Dave and ONLY his old stuff??? That's ridiculous. I have had an internship working for a MAJOR investment bank in New York City......writing computer code for the past 2 summers. Oh yeah, January 2002 they re-hired me as a consultant for 3 weeks during my winter break. I have this internship again this summer and should be offered a job making A VERY, VERY NICE SALARY.....PLUS signing bonus. All this has been done while recreationally smoking pot(minus my 1yr drug testing stint). Am I stupid??? Am I a loser??? By your closed minded comments, I am.

OK...maybe I'm stupid, that's fine. How about Carl Sagan. He was a world-renowned Astrophysicist....AND ARDENT MARIJUANA SMOKER. Go search anything on him....brilliant. Oh yeah, that's not just a stoner talking here. He was thought to be brilliant before everyone even knew he was a stoner. It came out in his biography after he died. He wrote pro-pot articles under the name "Mr. X" Search and read about him...you'll find it.

Don't go making stupid comments like that. If you don't like pot, that's fine...but clearly you don't know the first thing about smoking pot.

I am a pilot and I smoke regularly....and to make you feel more secure, about 50% of pilots like to smoke weed. As long as you don't let it interfere with what you need to do, and as soon as it does, do something about it. It affects everyone differently, for me I would never fly stonned with passengers, but when I do fly and am not stonned, I am 100%. It's all about self controll and knowing when it is affecting you in a negative way, and then knowing what to do about it.

Anyways, point is I like to smoke weed fly airplanes, and play guitar and will continue to do so till I choose otherwise

And lets say you were to crash god forbid .... And after the investigation they would blame the pot .... Then what would you do ? Feel guilty or say it was part of the job ? ..

Im not putting anyone down here , i think people should be able to do what they really want , as long as they don't try to talk others in to doing the same , let people do it on their own free will .... I myself do not personally smoke , but i got alot of friends that does , and its their business as long as they don't smoke it in my house its all good ya know ....

The reason i mentioned the plane thingy is because i remember a couple months ago , a car crash were people were killed , and one of the drivers survived and got the full blame because he had been smoking a bowl 2 days earlier , even though people would say that he wasen't stoned by that , its still how the law sometimes sees things ....

Anyway im out of this topic because i do not wanna offend anyone by any means , and do not wanna fight about a topic that will keep coming back , wait a month and see , there will be a new topic again and again and again ....
