Warehouse Help

Post by robg »

Hi,

No matter what I try I can't get warehouse to sound right. I guess I need to work on muting my strings. I tried to download a track made by billy but its no longer available. Anyone else have a recording that is a little slower that can help me?

warehouse is hard... practice practice practice. try starting off slow, and get all the muting right, then progress faster.

IM me, I think I can help. It's not as hard if you get how to play it right. IM and I'll get you set up, and you will find out it's one of the songs you will have the most fun playing.

Make sure to try different strumming, it makes a huge difference in songs like Warehouse. Mine started slower like on Recently, then practiced till go it down. Mostly just practice like duffman said oh yea

I have had a hard time with this song as well. Here's a thread where some folks offered some excellent advice for me.

I think that song is great fun to play... hard, but nice practice cause to some extent you need string muting in almost every song you come across.

I don't know if I'm just weird, but I started to learn warehouse, at speed, with no muting at first, and it sounded terrible, but eventually I was comfortable enough to mute the strings and play it right, so I don't know. but either way, practice, practice, practice :)

Not to steal the thread from you but i have just startied learnign this song as well. My question is to do the muting say for the first note (7xxx) do you puch down on the 7 and then let you index finger which you are using for the 7 lay on the strings almost like a palm mute?

i know this is kinda ghetto but when i first learned this song, instead of reaching with ur index finger to the XXX7XX you can just kinda stretch your pinky to XX12XXX, thats how i played it until i got the muting down the other way, i dunno if it helps, but maybe just a temporary fix while u practice the muting

the hard part of this song is struming the right area of the guitar at the right time.

If anyone wants help with this song, IM me and I can get you going.
