Correct meaning of the song

Dave said somewhere, forget where though but he said it, and it was something from a long while ago. Ants Marching is partialy about Dave growing up.

well by that line, i always thought he was speaking sarcastically or as the voice of what everyone else is telling you to do.

As previously mentioned, Dave lives in Seattle now. However, I don't recall him ever living in West Virginia. Virginia yes, West Virginia no.

Tic Tacs is right. I think you all are over analyzing the song. The part that Dave relates from his childhood is the line "laying under the table and dreaming" as he has said that he did that as a child.

Oh, something about the music video. How the guy keeps getting slapped in the head, Dave said that it was based on how much he was slapped in his head when he was younger . . . or something like that.

What it's really about is Dave's love for the great snack of "ant's on a log." Celery is kinda shitty but who doesn't love peanut butter and raisins

It's true. I have a Davespeak mp3 from '96 where he talks about it. Apparently he's a huge celery fan.

I have not made any recordings. I play guitar on one of my friend's cd's, but there's three guitars playing so it's not really noticeable. I have no way of recording anything, and nowhere to host it even if I did record.
