Dave in new CD being released this fall....

That's totally different. Those recordings were done a long time ago, and they're just being released now. It's not the band, just Dave.

Besides, they're recording in the Fall. The CD won't be out until Spring '05 I'd say.

i know it's just dave and not the band, that's why i put it in the general forum... however, it appears with the freshness of this story (7/27) that this will be released before the end of 2004... i think the recording is pretty much finished

hey not a problem man.... so what do you think, do you think dave's roots are gonna be spelled out clearly in this release (as far as his style of playing is concerned)?

Yeah, it'll definately be interesting hearing an early side of Dave. Is any more of his original stuff on there besides STJL?

i don't think so...they seem to only note STJL as being one of the songs that the band still plays today,..but, it seems like there will be some more original stuff that no one has heard yet...i'm very excited to check this out... this is pre-dmb music from Dave, that i'm sure not a lot of people knew existed

i wonder if this guy Mark Roebuck planned this purposely... now that Dave is huge in the music scene, he is releasing a collaborative piece of work that he and Dave did like 15 years ago...pretty good plan if you ask me, this will really get his name out there for everyone to hear..

I heard about this a half a year ago. Dave helped write some stuff when he was starting out. Mainly it's just his vocals and such, I believe. I don't remember exactly what it was, but I heard about it a while back.
