Dave now using capo

Post by comensee41 »

As I was watching Dave reach into his pocket and grab a capo before Good Good Time...I thought to myself...is this the first time Dave has used one on an original song? I know he uses different tuning sometimes, but ive never heard or seen this before.

Unfortunately this will fuel the fire for the Dave haters and the so called musical purists out there who frown on using a capo.

I think it's cool. You gotta mix it up, especially when 75% of your songs use the same chords.

Sometimes musicians can be dumbasses. Using a capo is like using an ebow, different thickness picks, or even different brands/styles of guitar. The point is to get the tones you need to make the music, it's not a fashion show.

Sorry about the rant, I like using capos, you can get awesome chord voicings :)

exactly, why have an extra guitar on stage, for something you can capo at the third? I see no shame in a capo.

I think they're ugly and they use too much pressure. I use Shubb capos.

What, like these: http://www.shubb.com/deluxe.html

I dont really think too much about the aesthetics of capos but I think my kyser one looks fine, isthe pressure really that much of a deal if its only gonna be on there for 10 minutes at the most?
