Anyone know where I can find Double Layer DVD media?

The only deals I can find are online and are Verbatim paks of 10 for $24. I had been told that the double layer media would be very comparable to single-layer. Obviously not the case here.

Not sure who told you that, but I don't think so, at least right now. Dual layer drives came out for consumers about a month or two ago (IIRC), and media usually follows at a slower pace.

well, if single layer disks go for around $1/disk...$10/24 disks doesn't seem too outrageous

well what ever you saw online was complete BS. those 10 disc sets are 5 +R, 4+RW, and 1 yes thats 1 DL. All dual layer disks are selling for 15-20 dollars right now. If you go to sony's site and to their DVD burner section you then choose the new DL burner and go to accesories on that page they have the new media at 15 dollars. And i havent seen any better prices. Just get the DL burner now and worry about media when the price comes down.
