ive had my EXP Mediums on Nancy (my guitar) for over a month now and they still sound good... i want to switch back to phosphor bronze lights sometime soon though, i'll play soo good for like 3 days when i go down a gauge.... i think i have some dean markleys laying around somewhere, but i dont think the brand matters much at all, i usually just get D'Addario phosphors
Stick with the Polywebs if you're going to use the Elixirs. Nanowebs have been nothing but terrible in my experience. They have a much thinner coating on them and if I'm going to spend $14 (which I don't, thank you for friends) they had better last longer than the average string.
Personally, I stick with DR or Elixir Polyweb strings. They have proven themselves to me time and time again.
D'Addario also makes a coated string that they complete soak the string in before it's wound instead of after it like Elixir. I haven't tried them yet but I've heard mixed results ranging from good to excellent.
Like with any guitar use, wipe your strings and fretboard off after you play and you'll see an increase in string life. You wouldn't believe how much that effects the longevity of your strings tone and life. The oils in your hand are so gross to the strings. I'll stop before this turns into a maintenance thread for guitars.
You know, Orion, I tried that and did it religiously for like 2 months and only noticed a slight difference in the longevity of my strings, so for better or worse, I gave that practice up, lol

DR strings are great. If the store doesn't have Dean Markley, I get DR. Also, the Dean Markleys last for over a month for me. They never lose their fullness til about a month and a half for me. I love them, and I have tried so many others, and I have recently tried EXP D'addarios, they are sharp, but there is such a thin sound, no fullness to them at all. But, yeah DR strings are good.
Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": The food court is downstairs. The cookie stand is upstairs. It's not like we're talking quantum physics here.
I prefer the nanowebs over the polywebs, give them a try next time to see if you like them more than the polys. But elixirs are my favorite strings no matter which version I have, I just prefer the nanos.
