Easy Dave Songs ??

Post by DSeibel »

Hey Guys !

I am somewhat of a beginer guitarist....and I have began to learn the below Dave songs that seem to be a little easier than some of the others. Any others you can suggest ??

Dancing Nancies
Grey Street
Crash
Ants Marching

Thanks

Dave

Christmas Song was my first. Satellite (even at a slower speed) will help you with dexterity and stretching. Those 4 are good to start on though. Then move on to songs like 41 and Lie in our graves.

Prodest Monkey is just the same riff over and over again....

Code: Select all

The whole song is this simple riff
Just make a Ab power chord and you will see how to do it
There are variations thrown in
E:----------------------
B:----------------------
G:----------------------
D:-------6-----6-----6--
A:----------6-----4-----
E:-4--4-----------------
   1 1 4 3 4 1 4

If you can play Grey Street, you can do the Chorus of Trippin' Billies too.

ants marching? ive been playing for years now and believe that i can play almost all of daves songs pretty well. but the god damn verse of ants marching, to this day, absolutely destroys any notion ive once had that i am a good guitar player. i just cant nail it.

all the above mentioned are good ones to start with. song that jane likes is another good one to learn. dont drink the water and bartender are also pretty basic. big eyed fish is another easy one. where are you going, too.

i think that about rounds out my list.

WAYG is pretty easy, and although the timing of the guitar part for the sax solo is a bit tricky, it is so satisfying to play.

Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead

The first one I could play was #41, but that was with changing the intro a bit to keep my hand in one piece.

Although, a long time ago when I started guitar, I had a friend trying to teach me songs. Come to find out he was trying to teach me Lie in Our Graves. I think that one is a bit hard if you haven't been playing long. But if you can bust Lie in Our Graves then try So Much to Say, its fast, but after slowing it down to start with, it ain't so bad.

I'm pretty bias against newbies learning satellite because it was such a bitch for me to learn and perfect. Typical is easy to play but very tricky to sing with.
