The best I can do with dampening is throwing a blanket over my comp. I don't want a complete Free-field, just dampening what I can and then trying to EQ/reduce the rest. The walls are square and the room is fairly large.CheersDtoT wrote:Ok lets start with the first thing about making a freefield. Freefield (sound proof) is a very difficult thing to make... if you want a complete FREE-Field I will tell you how to make it... but if not... you just need to dampen your room... you must look at the materials of the walls floors and cellings... Are the walls square to eachother?.... if you are going to open up a condenser mic in a large room you might have a problem.
Ok you have One 1/4 from your mixer... and one 1/4 input into the computer... just make sure your 1/4 cable is balanced... so it will be stareo... you can tell because unbalanced lines have one strip on them and balanced lines have two... one is a hot and the other a cold... we are talking AC signal.
As for 1/4 from my mixer, it has two outputs that say Left/Right. Will I still be able to achieve a stereo signal irregardless of whatever output I use?
Thanks for all the help by the way.

its an electric piano, so it has a 1/4" outputCheersDtoT wrote:What connection do you use for your Piano?? Also what mics are you using for your banjo and drums ??
i use a ksm 109 for the banjo, and the two songs i've don drum on used 3 sm57's and a crappy vocal mic for the bass drum, it has surprisingly good quality though

Just one 1/4 input. I'm mostly just trying to get rid of fan noise/room noise/hiss.CheersDtoT wrote:If you have stereo outs from your mixer than thats fine... do you have stereo in's on your computer... or just one 1/4 input ???
Also what kinds of sounds are you trying to get rid of... because EQing is DEFINETLY NOT the answer !!!!!!!
Beta's are great.

Fan from computer and air conditioning noise are the most prominent.CheersDtoT wrote:What do you want to know about the M Audio connection.
Are you hearing the Fan from the computer ... or are you getting a fly ( a fly is a buzz...humm...or what ever... in the background of the song) ... because that can be a totally different problem
