This same thing happens to me at work, but not when Im at home, it really pisses me off. When I come to work is when theres the most new posts and I have to just go through and figure out which ones are new, its not that much of a hassle but its still weird that it happens.
Hm. Next time it does this, after you log in the first time and it apparently didn't log you in, press Control+F5 (before you try to log in the second time) and let me know the result.

ok, but even if it lets me in the first, theres still no new posts most of the time, maybe the F5 thing will do something, just didnt know if you caught that part
There's something wrong there. If you'll look next time it does that, it'll say "You last visited on..." and the time will be right then. Are you checking "log me in automatically" when you log in? If so, then you're already logged in and you don't need to do it again. If it shows you the login box and says that you're not logged in, that's a cache issue and reloading it (before you log in) by pressing Control+F5 might help.
Good news though, the next version of the forum uses DB read tracking, so you won't lose the posts you haven't read even if you close your browser or whatever.

Ive tried it clicking the keep me logged in button and not clicking it, Ive tried everything and Ill go right from logging in, into the index and in the top it still says "log in" instead of "logged in as jsgksu" but oh well, its not that big of a deal, its just a problem at work on this one screwy computer
