Guitar Lessons

Post by Jakis »

Booked some guitar lessons today. I have been playing for about a year now and decided it was time to book some lessons if I want to progress in my guitar playing ability. I can play about 15 songs but I dont know much theory, scales and I am not too great at rythm either. I start on the 29th of June and cant wait. Hopefully a year from now ill still be taking lessons but a hell of alot better  .

don't get to caught up witht he teacher and stuff. Teachers tend to resrict styles. etc. They think only their way is the right to play.

GOD DAMNIT JOSH YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!!

never hurts to get some theory in even if the teacher is very restrictive; knowledge is power.

Started my lessons today. Learned lots and am very impressed with my teacher. Today I learned the bar chords on the a and e string. He also gave me the song "nowhere man" by the beatles to learn and practice playing bar chords. next week i am into scales. and each week he said I could pick a song he knows how to play..which he has a list of over 1000 songs...and he will teach me..Hes a great instructor and leaves room for me to play. Its great

yea i know some teachers suck, no some people who have rexitles (thats gay)... my first teacher when i first started HUGE DMB fan like me, so like i said i wanna learn som dave and he taught me allot of important things but taught me songs i wanted to know... then he left to pursue a music career, and hes back now, but my new teacher rocks... he'll teach me anything i want, teaches me how to solo, improvise, jam, and anything i need to know, he rounds out ur style and then gives u stuff to improve it.
