Dave's Ultimate Best Song

Ok. Almost every song that Dave plays is my new favorite song. But I discovered Sweet Up and Down just some time ago. I can't believe how perfect this song is.. in every aspect. I know the song has been around for a while, but is there anyone out there that agrees with me? I'm just wondering if I'm alone.

I love that song! In fact, I wish they would put it on the new studio album.

I think I read somewhere that Dave himself was not a big fan of the song. Thats why it never came to be anything........on a released cd I mean. I could be wrong.

Ants Marching, is dave's ultimate best song, he even said it himself that "it was their anthem." I used to love SUAD until i actually had to play it (and thats why i dont blame dave for not liking it) :shakes head: it's got great lyrics, and dave's voice is really on in that song which is too bad, because if it had some new music, i think it would be 10x better, and could become a staple

Just because it's only 5 notes on bass or whatever your complaint is does not make it a bad song. Simplicity != badness. (Yes, that's a word because I said it is.)

it's boring on guitar too mate. theres no breakdown or anything. the music just doesn't do anything for me. it doesn't want to make you move like other dmb songs (billies, bowa, OSW) with similar singing

I think Billlies and Ants are awesome, but I just can't call any one song the best.

Ants Marching w/ the funk intro live is the most crowd involved songe ever! It's straight electric!!!

Well, Ants is their classic song. Yeah, Dave said that if he were to chose a song that would be his legacy, Ants would be it. But as for the moving comment, tic tacs, I actually find this to be a good dancing song.

But yes, Ants is also one of their greatest songs. But so is BOWA, LIOG, Crash, WWYS, #34, Is Chicago, Not Chicago,..... I'll stop now.

ive said it before...ants marching is on a whole different level than the rest of their songs: there are dmb songs, and then theres ants marching
