cheap banger

Post by freshead16 »

hey guys, im looking for a cheap (200-300) doller guitar to bang around on. ive had many second guitars but keep trading them in cause i am searching for one with warm full sound rather than bright loud twangy sound which i cant seem to not find in guitars in that price range. if u know of any models or brands lemme know. it propalby wont happen with a price range of that low but thought id ask. thanks

too low. you will get a lot of buzzing from the 9th fret down. not worth it.

Not true. My first guitar was a Washburn D-10S and it never buzzed and I paid 175 for it. It's not as good as my Larrivees but considering the price it was a good buy.

Alvarez RD-8! Great guitar for $260...full sound, no buzzing, low action! That's what I'm playing now until I decide to get something acoustic-electric! I've never had a problem with it either!

My buddy has this guitar as a banger and it works out perfectly. very good sound and very affordable.

I'm looking for an even cheaper banger (less than $100), to take to the beach or camping ... something where I wouldn't mind if it got full of sand or scratched to shit.

I realize the sound quality will suck, but what do you all think the best I can do is? I've seen some ridiculously cheap stuff on the web (like $49, http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=g ... id/519266/), but am I gonna be sent a cardboard box with strings?

I don't think I'll find trash like this at GC, so where else can I go?

the cheapest Alvarez I've ever seen is still $100-$200.

the problem is that the last time I was at the beach with a guitar, it came back with sand in the body, scratches up and down the back and front and tuners that were shot.

so I'm thinking of a guitar that's playable and actually sounds like a guitar (granted, a shitty guitar), but that I could use for firewood if it got too cold.

those Rogues I mentioned claim to have spruce tops and rosewood fingerboards, and they're $49. Maybe they fell off a truck or were made in Pakistan by starving children.

What else could they have? I mean, wood is the main ingredient when baking a guitar.

Maybe plastic?

I'm going to pick up an RD20s with a hard shell travel case for $120 after work. excited for a cheap new toy.

for sure. i am actualy excited to hear it. I heard from some members that this guitar actually sounds really damn good, and in all honesty, I just needed a hard case for my AD60SC, so for an extra $40 i get an rd20s
