victor is god

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

i stayed up till sun-up learning "you cant hold no groove" - such an awesome song. in my opinion is loads better live than on his cd. Buy vics dvd, Victor Wooten live at bass day 98, some awesome stuff in that dvd.

speaking of "you cant hold no groove", can you explain to me how he gets that...i dont know how to phrase it...."rolling" sound i guess is the best term for it...he first does it at the beginning...not very beginning, just after the first little opening thing he does, then he starts into the song with the "rolling"thing(even tho the beginning is "semi-rolling").

is it on the bassday DVD maybe?

I'm not really sure what your talking about - i mainly just play the song with my right hand really loose and for some of the muting parts and strumming parts use the upper parts of my fingers.

id really suggest you buy the book, hes got every last bit of the song tabbed out. Or go and just look at the book, id suggest buying though.

but as for the right hand technique, you dont have to mimic all his stuff completely, just stay loose and whatever your looking for will probably come to you by accident
