It went pretty well. The first day we got 2 songs done, and the 2nd day we tried to get about 9 songs done, but we were recording in the morning and I just wasnt feeling well, so alot of those we threw out. I came into the third session really late at night and it was by far the best. We got all the songs done and the performances were much better than the days before.

The album has a sorta rootsy live sound because I recorded both the vocals and guitar at the same time on most of the tracks. My guitar was recorded with some $10000 sony mic that I never heard of(it sounds amazing), and my vocals were recorded with an old nuemann u47. I guess they dont really use the u47 in that studio because it has a really old sound, but I just loved it for my style.

I wasnt able to get a taylor guitar for recording like I was hoping for, so I used my friends takamine. It wasnt an amazing guitar, but it had a good recorded sound so I was happy. When he sends me a rough mix, I'll put a song up-

yea, I still havent got any kind of rough mix yet, and it kinda worries me. My friend has a reputation of not finnishing stuff for a long time after its due.

that's crappy j. It's like welcome to the music business!

It's so hard when it's your heart that you put out there, it's like c'mon - makes you want to do it yourself I bet! good luck with all of that. I wish I had something better to say, but I'm sure your doing all you can.

Yea Im not releasing a CD for a little while now.
The guy who recorded it wants to have control of the copyright and he wants me to do alot of stupid things, So i guess this was my first lesson about how the music business really is.

Luckily-
I'm going to re-record it with one of my friends who lives near me(who I can trust). So I will have something done in mid-fall.

Sounds kinda scetchy. You should watch that guy like a hawk.
That seems like the hardest aspect of getting started in the biz. You don't have enough money to pay for a good lawyer to cross the t's and dot the i's but if you don't your tempting fate. I would be paranoid all the time. I'm sure you'll be fine though. :D

Good luck with the (re)recording. I can't wait to hear it.
