I'm not trying to hurt your feelings. If someone is calling something gay, they are not talking about you or any other homosexual. They are using the word in a different context. I could see if someone said, "hey Ranting quit being gay," but they aren't. I'm sorry you find it offensive but no one is saying it with the intention of offending you. Like it was stated before, it's part of the English venacular and people using when they don't like something. Like saying something is Jewish. I wouldn't purposely try to offend you or anyone else but it's just something people say.

I think that's really the important part. If people were intentionally saying it to insult homosexuals, it's one thing, but I seriously doubt that's what anyone's intention is around here.

that's the best comment about this issue i've ever heard - if someone is proud to be who they are, why should they care?

just becuase someone is proud to be gay they won't care about being called a fag...or a black person wouldn't care that they are called a nigger?
