Lyle Lovett is good, so is David Gray. Folk songs are the best for that type of thing, IMO.

Since everyone knows it, you could always play "Free Falling" by Tom Petty

Or you could get some Allman Brothers and play Midnight Rider...great song

Or if people know the song, Ramble On by Led Zeppelin is good

just a phase by incubus. and aqueous transmission if someone can sing well or you've got some crazy instruments like flutes and stuff.
