Finally! Tim Cover of "Ohio" Tab

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Finally! Tim Cover of "Ohio" Tab

Post by dmbguitar718 »

I've seen many people requesting it, so I relearned it the right way and tabbed it this afternoon. :)

EDIT: This probably should have gone in General Guitar Discussion.

Code: Select all

Tim Reynolds
Ohio - Neil Young Cover
Tabbed from 3.29.03

For the most part, I'm going to put the full chords, and you can figure the strumming pattern

Tim is playing the first part in the beginning (with all the volume swells and effects)

Drop D

 *Lead in*
E--5-7-5-----2--0---0--2-------2-0--0--------------
B------------3----3------3-3------------3----1--1--
G------------4----------------------------------0--
D------------4----------------------------------2--
A------------2--3------------------3--3---3--3--3--
D----------------------5-----5--------------------

Part II

E--0-2-2---3---2-2---0---0--2-------2---------
B--3-3-3---3---3-3---2---2----3-3-----5----5--
G-----------------------(6)-------------------
D---------------------------------------------
A------------------0---0----------------3--3--
D--0-----0---0--------------5-----5-----------

E--0-2-2---3---2-2---0---0--2-------------
B--3-3-3---3---3-3---2---2----3--3--0--3--
G-----------------------(6)------------4--
D--------------------------------------5--
A------------------0---0----3--3----------
D--0-----0---0-------------------------5--

Part III

E-------(1)---------
B--------3---3---3--
G----0h2-2---2---0--
D--0-----0-3-3---2--
A--------------3-3--
D-------------------

Part IV

E----1-1-0-------------
B----3-3---3--1-3-3-1--
G-------------0---0-0--
D--0-------------------
A-----------------3-3--
D-------------3--------

E----1-1-0-----------
B----3-3---3--1-3-3--
G-------------0---0--
D--0-----------------
A-----------------3--
D-------------3------

Part V

E-------------------------------------
B-----3-3--6--6-6-6-6/8-5-6--5-6-3-1--
G-----3-3---------------5-5--5-----0--
D----------------------------------2--
A-----------------------3----3-----3--
D--/5---------------------------------
Brush the 3's

E---------------------------------------
B-----3-3--6--6-3-5---------------------
G-----3-3---------5----0h2-0------------
D----------------------------2-0---0h2--
A-----------------3--3-----------3------
D--/5-----------------------------------

Repeat the first part again, then end with this:

E--------------------------------
B-----3-3--6--6-3-5-----5-----5--
G-----3-3---------5-----5-----5--
D--------------------------------
A-------------------3-3---4-4----
D--/5----------------------------

Repeat Part III, then the rest is yours.

On 3.29.03, Tim uses this as a loop:

E-------------------
B-------------------
G-------------------
D-------------------
A-------------------
D--0-0-3-5-0-0-3-5--

That just about covers it. Feel free to use variations of chords.

I looked over it quickly, and it seems you've got the general idea, but there are quite a bit if inaccuracies in that tab.

i think the inaccuraces are just times when i didnt include the actual chords, but the notes that he plays. for example, i could have one note listed, but he's playing the full chord.
