Hey All...

I am an old Dead Head and a HUGE Dave fan for years now. I am also a guitar player, so....you know.....I get it in a huge way.

I am just now beginning to explore the trading methods you guys are using. As I said, as an old head, it was always cassetts, etc....

While I have found some real quality digital stuff online Dead and Dave wise, I would like to jump into the fray here, especially when it comes to video.

So, here come the stupid questions:

B&P....Definition?

Bit Torrent.....I am actually dowloading something as we speak on the other machine of a D & T performance...but I don't really understand the technology. Is this real peer-to-peer stuff?

Anyone familiar with the site DMB DVD Central? (Stupidest question yet, right?) I have some questions there....how do I get to a specific show for download off the menu? Is it available for download, or is it a send me and I'll brun you one thing? For example....my wife and I were at Eisenhower Hall last March, and it is isted, but not downloadable.....or is it?

Sorry for the long-winded e-mail. And, here is a question....at 36, am I the grandaddy of this site?

b&p -- read the b+p must read at the top of this forum

bit torrent -- it's somewhat of p2p...except rather than just connecting to one person, you are connected to a whole group...and also, you don't just download from these people, while you download, you also upload

dmb dvd central -- i don't really use it, whatever i get, i get from here or sharingthegroove.org (great place)

at 36 -- no you are not the grandaddy, but you are an elder

To answer one of your questions, DMB DVD Central is not a place where you can obtain these DVD's. It is a central information site to document what shows are available in the community for trade...and what shows are currently being worked on for release in the future.

It is a great resource tool. Many thanks to Matt and Pushkar for all their hard work on that site.
