I agree Matty. I don't know Ranting very well but that was the last thing I expected him to say. Back to the subject at hand, I think it is important for all musicians to respect all genres of music. Even if they sound as bad as Britney Spears, they still deserve respect.

I am not a fan of her (and I'm part of the male minority that doesn't think she is hot) but this conversation brings up something that my friend said to me (who also happens to be the best musician I have ever met in my life).

He said that when you are high school/college age, as most of us here are, you tend to develop your tastes. But a lot of people tend to develop tastes and don't give anything else a chance because we want to have some sort of identity that is defined by our opinions. We say, "This is my thing, I'm not going to give that thing a chance. I'm into DMB, but punk sucks so I'm not going to give it a chance. I like Independent films, so I'm not going to give cheesy popcorn movies a chance." I find myself doing this all the time, and I think it is important to keep an open mind and allow yourself to have other influences from other genres.

Believ e it or not, toxic is actually on a playlist of mine. knock me if you want, but there is somthing about that song that I like. Its actually the begginning of the chorus that I really like. whatever.

yeah, there was no good reason to have posted like that, I am sorry, I was just in a bad mood, and I guess me despising her was the chosen outlet at the time. I don't like her (almost hate) but no need for the post, sorry.
