Unread post by isaac » Sat Apr 24, 2004 10:58 pm

spontaneous collab project with whit that we did tonight which meant me learning the song on guitar in short time cuz whit was too lazy to play! she just wanted to sing but she did a damn fine job. ;)

Now was this an online colab, or do you guys know each other in real life?

Great job guys.... I think on the parts where jason does the falsetto transtions you should make your own twist on it, instead of doing the transition with a non falsetto voice. It kinda sounds a little choppy. But other than that i thought it was awsome. You both have a great voice. Also, i dont know where you are from but i remember going to an open mic in Naperville, IL and i remember a girl that sounded EXACTLY identical to you. Maybe its you

this was an online collaboration, but i wouldn't mind knowing ike! :D

no, the girl in illinois wasn't me...but that's cool!

my comments on this collab: isaac did an awesome guitar track, learned it in like fifteen minutes. and it's perfect. my vocals were okay i guess, i probably recorded them twenty five times over. i kept thinking, "oh, i can do that part better" and re-did it..now i'm pissed because i did a few better versions before this one! oh well. i did the drums on my guitar...actually, isaac might have re-did them with his djembe, not sure. but yeah, i had fun and i wanna do another one, PM me if you're up for it!

I thought it was really nice. Whit, I think out of all of your covers I have listened to, your voice sounded the best on this one. Nice job on the vocals, I was pretty surprised I guess you could say on this one.

Ike, nice job on guitar. For learning it in a few mins it was really good. I-man, I really must admit that your singing around 2:23-30 sounded a bit out of place. No offense, you rock, it just wasn't my cup of tea. :D

Overall I thought it was very good. Nice job guys :D

Pretty good cover. It's hard to keep up with Mraz on his vocals.

heh. thanks for the comments everyone.

whit- i did redo it with the djembe, but my crappy mic didn't make it sound much better, just a little less tinny than the guitar.

speeny- it's cool. no offense taken. whit said that those were the times toca comes in with background vocals so that's what i did, but you know my singing. :P i had fun collaborating and i think that's part of it. ;)

reckless- it's hard to keep up with buckley on his vocals. :P

i'm up for another collab to, but maybe i should just stick with playing. meh.
