Standard or Vintage?

Post by themaker »

Did dave use the HD-28 or the HD-28V? This site says he used the V.. The dmb official site says he used the standard HD-28. Some articles even say that too. I saw a picture of him using the HD-28V. The martin website said he used the vintage model. SO he probably used both huh?

If you're talking about the difference between the HD-28 and the HD-28V, the difference is the shape of the neck. The V-series has a more pointed neck, not as rounded as all other guitars are usually made. I've played both types, and I find the V-series to be more comfortable with the way my hands lay on the fretboard and on the neck :-)

But if you're talking about the difference between the standard and vintage is, so I can't really help ya there :-(

But they are quality guitars! I wouldn't mind having either one ;-)

There is def a difference with the bracing.....the bracing in the vintage models are shifted "forward" towards the sound hole. This allows the top to vibrate more freely, but makes it less sturdy. Better tone in my opinion.
You're only as strong as the tables you dance on.
