Warehouse Verse Help Offered - Recording

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Warehouse Verse Help Offered - Recording

Post by billywestom »

What's up everyone!!! A new DMBTABS member contacted me recently and asked if I would do a strumming pattern tab for him for the Warehouse verse, since he had seen my others from a while ago. I didn't have time to actually tab it out, but I did a recording of it and explained as well as I could the strumming pattern. I decided to post it here instead of giving it right to him so maybe I could help anyone else out, too. Maybe there could be some disagreement to how it's played correctly, but this is how I think it should sound. Peace everyone.

Hey Billy,

Thanks again for the lesson...it was very helpful.

I am still having trouble with this part:

E:------------------
B:--x-x-x--x-x-x-
G:--7-x-x--x-x-x-
D:----9-x--x-x-x-
A:------10-x-x-x-
E:----------x-x-x-

I can't seem to hit that 7 without ringing the strings above it, any advice on muting this part?

Thanks again.

don't hit those strings :D

what i do on the 7 on the G string is i while i'm holding it down with my index finger i also mute the D string so i have that much room for error. i do the same with the 9 and the 10. but practice slowly trying to be more accurate with your strumming, if there is one thing that learning dave matthew's music has taught me its how to hit any single string i want while i'm strumming

Thanks Billy. I really appreciate that mp3.

It's going to help tremendously.

Billy

Bravo that was great. If you could let us know how you mute the E, A,and D strings when playing the 7th fret G string? So that people don't think you have to hit just the G string 7th fret. thanks
