Clarinet or Sax?

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

Clarinet or Sax?

Post by aaronbomb »

At the end of "Where are you going" is that instrument that underlies the song a clarinet or a sax? I got into an arguement with someone about this. I myself am pretty sure it's a clarinet. THank YOU!

I am pretty sure he is using a soprano sax which is kinda simillar to a clarinet. He uses soprano heaps on that album

The solo is definitely a soprano sax. It's similar to the clarinet but has the same sax fingerings. I saw Leroi play it live on Conan O'Brian and he gave a stellar performance with it.

The first few notes of the solo in the middle are Butch on the keyboard, the rest is Sax.
