I quite liked that, albeit it incredibly minimalistic.

I liked it, though I wish he'd stop writing songs about politics and making the world a better place and go back to singing about needles, addiction, and shame.

Lillywhite is giving out hints and insight about Mercy and the album on Twitter.

Shortest track is two+ minutes, Mercy is not a quiet song on the album, it's not the last track Stefan was tweeting about, album title hasn't been decided yet... etc.

I agree that he probably should get away from topics like that, but I think the larger issue here is the way he's writing. The lyrics are so straight forward. It's like he's giving a speech on the topic and it completely takes you out of the song.
