kanter recorded most of the vids on one. He cant say enough good things about them. Ive never played one personally though.

i don't like them, myself. they sound good and are all right, but i'd still take indian rosewood over it. :) different strokes for different folks.

no, kanter recorded videos on a 314kce that has a sitka top.

theyre definately some of the most beautiful guitars ive ever seen though. too bad my area sucks for selection.

I love Koa, the 414-CE LTD Koa back and sides is one of the best guitars that Taylor has ever made! I can't say enough how much that wood is the bomb, it's that or rosewood for me when I get my new guitar ;-)

Koa can be a killer tonewood. The trick is getting a really dense peice of it. Well at least I've found the best results with the denser stuff (which btw is usually darker than the less dense Koa). The extra density seems to add a slight rosewood tone to the mix. When I worked up in Maine a guitar that we (the 7 or so guys in the Bourgeois shop) built a guitar for Jewel that was Koa Sitka that just kicked butt. Full of tone and depth while still being woody and crisp. Not too mention the stuff looks wonderful!

hey John,

I also live in Norman, wow I never knew we had a guitar builder in town! maybe some time I can come by and check out your shop sometime, I'm really fascinated by guitar building. and btw, that tele style electric on your website is sweet. I'm looking into a tele style guitar and I love the tone of old thinlines so needless to say that guitar is calling my name. hit me back with a e-mail sometime. patrickwyrick@aol.com

Your more than welcome to stop by the shop anytime. Just give me a ring beforehand a day or so in advance. And thanks for the nice comments. The Model C was just sold but you can always order a custom one :)

Hope your well.

I LOVE KOA!!!! I CANT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT IT!!! I play a Takamine LTD90 ((see avitar)) which is all koa. It is seriously the most balanced tone i have ever gotten out of an acoustic. Trey plays an all koa electric and has had some pretty good results haha. If you have any questions feel free to IM me

i can now honestly answer this question. I had a chance to play an all Koa guitar this weekend and holy cow did it have a nice tone. Prob the most balanced i have ever heard. It all depends on the individual guitar of course though.

peace
