Quoting Smilies
I know the code to a few of the smilies off hand so I just type it in. But when it gets quoted the ones I type in just show up as the line of code, any idea why?

Not sure why i never replied to this thread, but it's something I reported to the phpBB developers within a day of installing the beta. Unfortunately, they don't view it as a bug, but rather a feature. They claim that in order to make it work 100% of the time, it would mean rewriting their parser to require a lot more processing than it currently does. The way to "fix" it is is to make sure there is a space before the quoted smiley.

Ah, okay. That's unrelated to whether the post had a smiley or not. It did it 3 times? I've seen this very occasionally, and assumed it was a finicky bug related to the feature that pops you back if someone has posted in between you starting your reply and submitting it. It hasn't seemed to happen often enough for me to investigate it and write up a test case for phpBB.
