The thing that bothers me most about this band is that they could still write shit like they used to. That is, Dave could, and the band could fucking learn their roles and play supporting parts as opposed to "woe is me, I need to be a part of the songwriting".

I really enjoy this album but I know that I shouldn't like it as much as I do. Its missing all that that made DMB great in the first place. I mean, where are the instrumental jams? And I hate the way "Dive In" starts out with the piano. If it had been recorded in '98 it would have started out with Boyd's violin or something similar to the strings on "The Stone." That being said, here is my ranking:

Big Whiskey & The Groogrux King

Stand Up

I decided not to list LWS because its an unfinished album, and R2T because its mostly live.

I Did It and Angel are worse than every song on BW, Dream of Our Fathers and Sleep to Dream Her are worse than all but a couple, ergo Everyday still sucks.

I like DOOF

I prefer BW over ED, however. It's a mixed feeling. I wish I could combine the two.
