I'd say go only twice on the intro riff before the verse if you're worried about how it sounds (it's not that bad, btw)

Otherwise, I like this song and you do it justice. Good work

Edit: Can you whistle at all? That might not sound bad and be something to try

Anyways, I'm glad I inspired you guys. It came out nice, intro a lil long, but yeah something needs to be done there..

The reverb or whatever effect that is on the vocals is too much for me.
