umm, would you mind showing me that 50%?? because juineaux is the only one that has been told that his guitar is really different and creative and that he has his own style, if i am remembering correclty. the majority of the "you've got your own style" comments have to do with the voice. I'd love to see a bunch that have to do with the guitar...

I read the posts, and I respond to them.

If you think you don't get "credit for shit" let me suggest that you read some of the responses in your cover threads. Almost every single comment has something in it about how great a guitar player you are.

Where did I get juineaux's name from? In your "cover" there were several moments where it was obvious to me anyway that you were trying to mimic him.

boo hoo. want some cheese with your whine?

Youre a great guitar player. I'll admit it. You play tripping billies second maybe only to Dave. I still think youre a dick though. Its just nice to hear something different every now and then. Take a listen to IronMike's cover. He hits single notes on one of his verses, and I think it adds a lot to the song. I personally like listening to that kinda thing much more than a perfect copy of a song. I acknowledge you skill, which is far beyond mine. Beyond a vast majority of the people here.

Tico, I'm not going to point finger...they know who they are......It's also the voice that is hard to mimic...I havent heard anyone do a cover on here that has a good enough voice to show the variation and tone of dave's tunes....it's unmatchable...i think especially to someone that has been taught so many years the "proper" way to sing.

are you trying to say that you sing dave's songs well and others don't?

Fair enough on the voice thing. I personally think Dave is NOT someone you want to emulate, and quite honestly, he's not that great of a singer. He uses his voice well, but it's not much of a voice. Usually he's waaaayyy to harsh and brittle, and you can hear that most in his live stuff, and in the way that the people on these boards try to imitate that.

Your last time through the chorus was the part that I thought was supposed to be like juineaux. Sorry if I was wrong.

Just wondering where is your "good", "non creative" copy of this song. I know you said it was in another tread but which one. thanks-

Dave has a great voice man...it's excellent...He can sing like no one else....and others can sing like dave can not...I have heard other dave covers where people with "good voices" the sing well, and on key...but DONT have the variation.

let me tell you that a lot of the variation has to do with a good, hot mic, as one can do more vocally when less volume output is required to get a decent sound. this is not the case with the crappy computer mics as if you sing too close to them you clip no matter what volume you're at, and if you get too far away, you get so much hiss and background noise that it's just intolerable. almost all of us are dealing with that.

like i said in my first post about dave's voice, he does a lot with it, but it's not the greatest voice. it's not a bad voice, but i wouldn't call it great. thankfully he's gotten better over the years, because his tone was just horrible in the early 90's.

Are me and Grave the only two that can see that?
What 50% fail Jason? I thought all of the covers were pretty damn good? Which do you think are not? Just out of curiosity....

and where can I get yours? I think it's the only one I don't have

Peace,

honestly...cave...there were only 2 people that actually played it so well, that there is no use complaining about the guitar part really...you were one of them...although the intro is not completely accurate, and I don't know wether the 7th fret 5string is accurate, so...

you didnt hear my creativity cover?

and I can honestly say with a dead serious face, that if people on this board would have heard a less obviously jocular version of what I played in this thread, they would have said that I had creativity and/or style...and to me, that is complete and utter bullshit.

Jason, youre a prick. Bottom line.

I dont care how perfect you play the song. Dave plays it better, and I get bored listening to you. Cause youre not dave, and you cant play exactly like dave, and more importantly cant sing like dave. If I want to hear dave, I'll put some L@LC in, or one of about three hundred bootlegs that sound better than you. Come up with something interesting, and I'll gladly re-evaluate my position. Until then, youre a great guitarist, with no vision. Peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YO FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!! BOOO yeah!!!!!!!!
