Ants Marching and my contest Billies

Post by cave_cricket »

K...I made an Ants Marching cover...it was my first time mixing to tracks so that is why it may not sound that good....I didn't know what I was doing.

Also, my billies for the supposed contest (whenever it gets going) is there and I wouldn't mind some feedback on the two...oryou can pick one to critique...please.

Cave........That came out fantastic. I thought your Tim fills fit really well....nice job with the slide and reverb. THe strumming on Dave's part was all right on......excellent job. You get such quality recordings. Are you just playing into a computer mic and using something like Cool Edit Pro? If so....that sounds great.

Yeah that's it. I didn't even use any reverb. That was just me and the acoustic guitar into the comp mic. I then used cool edit pro to mix it.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad you liked them.

"you know what a cave cricket is? have you ever seen a cricket? they're like crickets only they have long legs.....longer legs kinda like spiders." I forget the rest of it, anyway, yeah you nailed fuckin' Ants right on man! the timmy parts were good but especially at the end. That guitar sounds fuckin' great. Those Taylors are great for recording eh? I can't wait till I get my new guitar, I'm gonna put you guys to shame  yeah right eh?

Nice work on ants. Thats a pretty tuff tune and you do a good job. The timmy parts are awesome. The high notes need some work, but otherwise a great job, love the slide, but it did get out of key for a time there. Good work though.

Tank ya vedy mudge!! seriously thanks, yours was really good too, and so is dmbfanjason's. I recorded it again today with a little more GUT to the vocals, but I fucked up at the end so I said screw it. I have a hard time with vocal loudness. just curious, how long have you been singin'?
