baritone tuning

Hello,
can someone tell me how to tune a six string to baritone? Thanks!!

you cant, you need an actual baritone guitar. a regular six string isn't built to handle the tension of baritone strings

hey, I was thinking about buying the Jerry Jones. Can that guitar betuned to standard?

Hasn't Jared cleared this up that you can have baritone tuning on a regular 6 string without messing up gutiar?! If you really want to have baritone tuning here's what you do... More than likely do this if you have an extra guitar, if you don't, I would recomend this... buy a regular pack of strings, which ever kind tickle your fansy, then buy an extra B string along with it. First thing you do, throw out the low E string, you won't need need it. Then put the A string where the E string should go, then put the D string where the A string should be, and so on... When you get to the last string in the pack, there should be the high E string still open, here is where you put the extra B String that you got, once you get them all strung, here is where you want to tume it to baritone.

So you don't necessarily need a baritone guitar, Dave has his 714 tuned in Baritone in the Session@AOL, sooo, but like I said, you should only do this if you have an extra guitar to do it on.

Well there's my advice, try it and see how it sounds, I personally haven't it done it yet, cause I don't have an extra guitar to try it on, but I really want to when I get an extra guitar. Hope you try it out, great Dave songs are in Baritone tuning

i think this post defies the argument about raised b tuning

But he didn't ask for Raised B tuning, he asked about Baritone tuning. So I gave him what has been said many times on here

i think this post defies the argument about raised b tuning

the irony is overwhelming. what is described is raised B not baritone. they are different. someday people will get it... i'm not gonna bother considering there are 40 posts about this.

Yeah, go check out the thread in Dave's Guitar Discussion called' Official Raised B is not Baritone!' Baritone and raised b are the same notes, but not the same tuning

an easy way to see that they are NOT the same is- Baritone is 2.5 steps DOWN from standard, but if you want to play a standard guitar in raised B, you put a capo on 7 which effectively tunes you UP 3.5 steps. They cant be the same tuning, one is an octave higher.

Same Note Naming does not equal the Same Tuning!!!!
