what is this song about? one of his twin daughters is named grace, right?

Yes one of them is named Grace , but as far as i remember , he said in some interview that it wasen't about her , because he didn't want to make songs to personal .... Thats kinda wierd , i bet most of his songs are related to more than he claims them to be

I think that I remember reading somewhere that it was written shortly after the death of his step father...and was written from the perspective of someone who had lost a spouse or loved one (just as his mother had lost two husbands).

But I could be wrong

i was thinking it may have been about something grace did, but if he wrote it before she was born, it couldn't have been.
