The lyrics are fantastic and I think it has a great groove. One of the best on BTCS easily for me

it is great lyrically dont get me wrong, and i like it more on BTCS, but i feel like it gets dragged on live. just overrated to me thats all

I agree that it doesn't need to be 18 minutes live, but otherwise it's one of their masterpieces.

The Dreaming Tree, Spoon & The Stone are the best songs from BTSC (which doesn't mean that the others are bad), and therefore one of the best songs ever wtitten by DMB

I love the Dreaming Tree studio and live. However, I miss Roi's flute on it now. Jeff is great, but it's just not like how Roi did it. I listen to the album version, and his flute is so haunting it makes the song so much more mournful.
