I was able to use Angelfire finally, I kept wondering why I couldn't log-in after I created an account......it turned out it was my damn ad-blocker.
I don't really have that many recordings on my PC, but here's a couple of them for now:
I listened to Say Goodbye.. nice opening lol.. it was a very solid recording.. i would expect more out of 6 years of playing, but i can see 1 year of serious playing Good Job
Shows Been to: 7-17-02, 12-15-03, 7-20-04, 7-5/6-05
the guitar in say goodbye is solid, its got just enough style to not distract from the song itself and stays close to the way dave plays it... dont know if thats good or bad necessarily but i think it sounds good
i dont know how to explain it, the singer sounds like he's trying too hard or something... hes got a good voice but its like hes trying to sound emotional and drag out the beginnings and endings of some words to create feeling but i didnt feel it....
Thanks for your comments guys, ... I hope you realize that is NOT me singing on the Mayer tune -- haha. Since I don't sing, sometimes I'll take a song & edit it w/ Cool Edit Pro & try to 'minimize' the guitar and 'maximize' the vocals. That recording was me playing along w/ John ---just to clarify.
I remember seeing someone on the board mention that he/she used the Dell factory mic to record with; so do I, & it actually sounds better than some of the other stuff I've used.
Anyways thanks again for the feedback, hopefully those links will be back up soon for those who couldn't get em'.
The vocals on Say Goodbye sound nasal and the breathing could use work. At the end of ever phrase there's a release of breath that reminds me of a preacher....it gets kind of annoying to me. Otherwise good stuff.
