Ya I own a Chet. It sounds unbelievable plugged in, jus get a good acoustic amp for it. I got a Roland AC-60, goes perfectly wit the guitar. And when not plugged in, the Chet actually sounds louder than a regular electric guitar not plugged in. Hope that helps you somewhat
I tried an Epiphone Chet first, and thought it felt and sounded terrible. Then I see that they got in a Gibson, and tried it. I can see why Dave liked it. It's a very good stage guitar, and very good sound coming out of the speaker. Not the best studio guitar, though.

the chet atkins sst isn't designed to be played unplugged so you shouldn't expect ANYTHING from it unless it's plugged in to an amp.
