Just wondering if any of you know why butch isn't a part of DMB. He plays every show and is certainly a phenominal musician. Isnt he deserving of the honor?[/b]

Because he just plays shows. He doesn't record on their CD's. Thats how the band has always done it. That's pretty much what Dave has said. "He's just there....with us onstage" Who knows? He is pretty good, but I don't think they really want a keyboardist in the band fulltime and on their albums

I don't think so. Glen Ballard played keys on Everyday I believe.

he's got his own thing going, he just goes on because he is their good friend, and amazing. He does his own tours, and wants to be known for HIS music, not dmb.

i thought it was in their contract that they could not add or drop members and so therefore butch isn't it...i don't know though

no....i don't even think he adds much to the band. i've never liked the piano in this band. even with what's his face. peter grieser was it? i dunno..whatever. but i don't think so. just the five of them is perfect.

I definitely think they add to some songs where the guitar is kinda lame, especially Too Much from LS.
