Trouble with Angelfire

Unread post by IronMike778 » Tue Feb 04, 2003 10:34 am

Hoping someone can help. I've followed all of the directions posted by Firedancer but there seems to be a hang up at the point where I actually post the mp3 to my page. Here's what Ive done:

1. uploaded my mp3
2. index.html---->edit
3. Basic standard I go down to step 8
4. I type in the link to my song (ex. Ants_Marching.mp3)
5. Save
6. I'm then back to the webshell and click the link to my page
7. It takes me to my page but the song is not there.
8. Confusion sets in.

When I did a help search of 'mp3' it told me that mp3's were allowed to be hosted, but only on Angelfire Plus. Aren't many of you using the Free Angelfire? Why won't my mp3 get hosted? Any help would be appreciated.

did you name your link in the box beside the box where you put in the link? you might have to give it a name for it to show up on the page.
good, and you?

Grave.........no I did not do that other box.......it looked like an "optional" box. That's probably the problem.......will give it a whirl. Thanks

That helped, but still not done yet.

I can now see the song on my homepage but I when I go to listen to it I get a path not found type of error.
In step 8 of Basic Standard I typed the full URL in the first box (http://www.angelfire.com/clone2/davi/what_you_are.mp3)

and the description box just the song title. Any idea now what the problem is? Thanks.

you only type the name of the file you uploaded: what_you_are.mp3 then in the box beside it, you name it: what you are cover (or whatever)

that should work for ya.
good, and you?
