Actually i should say i lost the motivation of practicing on my own. We play every night. I always drink with my band, so we always jam when we drink/smoke.

Learn Anchor Song, by Bjork. You can find the guitar tabs for the brass part (which is the entire song). It's a biiiiiiiiiiitch of a stretch, and will give you something difficult to overcome.

For sure. If you're looking for something new jazz or classical should do the trick. Or consider writing your own material. Definitely all new challenges.

Spice it up by playing jazz, learning to solo, learn new chords( 7ths, maj7ths, min7ths, 9ths, 11ths, 13ths), work on scales or playing blues scales. Most popular rock gets pretty boring and it very seldomly deviates from the standard chord progression. Find something that is totally out of the norm from a guitar/listening standpoint and learn it.

Additionally- Learn a Bb rhythm changes and a jazz blues. More fun to play over than your typical standard blues form.

I kinda hit that slump for a while too then I starting learning the harmonica and got a brace to play them both at the same time and it made playing much more enjoyable again

I lost motivation for about a year and a half. I started playing drums and focusing on just percussion during that period. I just recently picked up guitar again and now it's more fun than ever, plus somehow I'm better than I was before I took a "break." So basically, just try something new for a while and it will come back to you.

i feel the same way as most of you with loosin motivation..ever since i started my job it seems lol (guitar center) i dont even like noodle around at work its kinda sad specially because we got some beautiful taylors

ive never really lost interest in guitar, i guess its so habitual for me to just pick up a guitar and play that it doesnt really get old to me anymore. im lucky i guess.

a 714c is a pretty good reason to keep pickin around though
