Some Devil

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I was soo fucking happy to find that this song is in standard tuning. Its one of my new favorite songs, next to tripping billies!

I have not see him do it live in person, but the performance of it that he did on the Today show just gripped me. Jason, you said it all...there is just so much emotion in that song.

The Today show had alot of quality close ups on the fretboard so it should be pretty easy to tab...actually the song does not seem that hard to play; the emotion however will be very hard to duplicate.

One thing I noticed is that it appears that his Jerry Jones Baritone only has 2 pickups where the standard models have 3....I'll have to look into that.

yeah, he did Some Devil and Stay or Leave. I think both are availible for download, but the whole part of the show (2 songs and interview) will be included as bonus footage on some upcoming DVD's.....fan based DVD's I mean, not commercial ones.

He did it live on the D&F's tour, all by himself on stage. Sent chills up my spine.

the today show set was so good, dave did fantastic versions of some devil and stay or leave, but neither are standard tuning. SD was on the baritone and SOL the raised B tuning
Sing and dance I'll play for you tonight and thrill at it all. Dark clouds may hang on me sometimes but I'll work it out...

Um, Some Devil is played on a baritone, in baritone tuning, not on an standard tuned electric. I did make a standard tab that is to be as close to the baritone as possible. I watched the today show performace over and over again, and it should be accurate. I'll post it in a little bit.

you know that's true for the most part...And for the show in San Diego I sat down for most of the show, but after he played/sang Some Devil I stood up and clapped, and thought "wow". He stunned me once again.

yea...at first i thought this song was terrible. but then i heard it live at the D&F show, and i kinda like it now. its not AMAZING, but it is very emotional. dave does a good job.

the only thing that annoys me about some devil is how his guitar work decreased so much, now its just like chords. very boring....but whatever.

Hahah Mikey!!! whats poppin man?!?!?!

anyway, I listened to the album version...it's still pretty good...but I dont know, just watching Dave sing the song all by himself in front of all those people putting so much into it. The way he sings "forever" live sounds way better than on the album. Live just made me cream my pants. I loved every minute of it.
