with a short delay (or using 2 delays) you can get a really warshing sound with the volume pedal. and with chords you can just woosh in big fat chords as accompaniment playing that has a cool effect.

the woosh is easy to figure out what sound i mean, but the warshing is like the woosh (cuz of the volume pedal) but added with the wobbling of the two delays, it ventures into the land of the warsh.

These are all technical terms of course.

If you have both a DL4 and a DD6/5, your effectability...for lack of a better term, depends on where you put it. If you wanna loop a la Howie Day, and also have your delays looped, put the Boss before the Line6. The way howie has it setup is that he only uses the dl4 for looping and then puts the dd-3 right after (he also uses 2 dd-5's for his vox..unrelated). The reason he does that is that he is able to fade out his guitar/bass/percussion loops in Beams of Light and other places by turning off the DL4 while the delay is engaged. The DL4 is able to delay your guitar while you are looping however so I dont think that you need a separate delay before the DL4 (either of the 3 bosses) but if you wanted more of a variable delay, get the extra pedal. Also something to consider, the DD-6 has a built-in tap tempo that you engage by holding the pedal down for 2 secs, then setting the tempo and then holding down again for 2 secs i think. The dd5 has a separate pedal that you can get that sets the tap tempo independently. I hope that helps in some clarification...any questions - AIM devils08
