do you have a finger resting over A and E if so which is it (to mute)

try your best not to hit those strings when your strumming, like when your strumming a D chord, you dont hit the A and E strings, you just hit the other 4

eze has the best siggy ever....and no i don't mute those i just pick it right through on the notes and when you're strumming the chords, just don't hit the other strings

you are picking those notes though with a nice rhythm you aren't strumming them right?

You can do what you want , either strum where you mute the first strings , or pick the notes

i would think that most people pick them

I definitely strum and mute and strum most of the strings in the vicinity of the note I am playing. It makes keeping the rhythm much easier. I used to play the song picked, but my style has changed so that muting and playing the song with the index and pinky fingers are much easier. It is almost like a "Stay" type maneuver(sp?)
