Satelite

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Listening to it now, it sounds like this.

Code: Select all

Intro is only the first guitar rerecorded on the the opposite channel so you get a fuller feel when hearing it.
These two channels could be the riff played differently. The left channel doesn't have all those squeaks you hear on the right. It could have been fretted like so,
E|----------------------------|
B|----------------------------|
G|---------------------------•|
D|----8-----------------------|
A|--6-----11---10---8---11---•|
E|4-----9----8----6---9----9--|
This gives the fretting hand not much time to run up and down the neck, across is quicker, so the squeaks are hard to avoid when played this way.

After that you hear a second guitar(or third how ever you want to look at it). I don't have the timing but this is the gist of it:
                 *
E|-6-6-6-6-6-6--6/8\4-4---------|
B|------------------------------|
G|------------------------------|
D|------------------------------|
A|------------------------------|
E|------------------------------|
                    *Grace note?
This guitar part changes every now and again and there is a lot of focus with dynamics, which seems to make up for the simplistic playing.

The violin seems to play eighth notes on every down beat except on the one. You can also try playing them an octave higher or lower.
E|------------------------|
B|----11--9---8-------9---|
G|----------------10-----•|
D|------------------------|
A|-----------------------•|
E|------------------------|
  1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 +

There is also another Violin that comes in with the first violin that harmonizes. Around 0:35. This is before the vocals.
The verse is only the two dubbed guitars (left and right channels). No third that I could hear.

That's all I have for now, I need to run. Hopefully you'll find the rest. Good luck!
